The summer is in full swing and grass is growing like crazy. Even if you have a small yard a basic mowing job can be a daunting task after a long day at work. Often the homeowner can do the work we do but it’s one of those jobs that are extremely easy to put off as well.
We realize that after a long day at work or dealing with unexpected showers late in the afternoon and cause you to put off your summer yard jobs more and more. Also for most people yard work is another job and not one where most people are experts. I am an expert in yard care because it’s something I think about constantly and I use the tools of the trade more than your average home owner. In addition to lawn mowers (both riding and push) We also use weed trimmers (a lot of people hate to use them but we use them often and well. I recently trimmed a customers yard with his own weed trimmer. He told me he hated weed trimming and just the act of dealing with a weed trimmer was enough to drive him crazy. Afterward he said, “I have lived in this house for over 10 years and may yard looks better today than it has since I have lived here.” Wow what a compliment and that was just for weed trimming.
I’m also talking to this customer about removing and old desk and replacing a door frame. While I was there I also educated him on some practices he could observe to extend the life of his heat pump, etc. (this involved the grass growing around it by the way.)
I also was talking to this customer who is an expert in his own right on marketing a business and he is giving me great advice. One thing I am looking on implementing soon is subscription service where you would pay us upfront for a years or seasons worth of service.
I’m also brainstorming the idea of a video or newsletter we could provide that would help you take care of your lawn between our visits. See a new poll we have up on our polls page.
